Hi, Thinking about  buying a 2011-2012 40d SE from a main dealer.
From looking at the forum this X5 has been listed at the dealer since at least May 2015
Seems a little bit overpriced for an SE and more in line with Msport pricing

Has the price changed over time and has anyone viewed/driven it?

Big spec but what a horrible colour!

It's a big spec but overpriced IMHO - that is M sport money, but they can overprice it because you will struggle to find that spec again.

I picked up my 40d 2011 M sport 40k miles with all those options plus a few more for £1k more than that car but it wasn't AUC. I still get daily alerts for new 40d adverts and I haven't seen one with the same spec yet - some cars have some of the options but no cars have all of them. There was only 1 other like mine and it was an AUC 2011 with 50k miles and they wanted £34k for it! So BMW will use a big spec to up price a car and someone (like me  )) will buy it because regardless of book values, you aren't likely to find the same thing again.

If you do intend on an e70 please make sure it has the hard drive based later edition Nav and Idrive, older ones up til 2010 I think had the older dvd based system, which is in all honesty dreadful.

If you do intend on an e70 please make sure it has the hard drive based later edition Nav and Idrive, older ones up til 2010 I think had the older dvd based system, which is in all honesty dreadful.

I agree - the newer system is a total transformation, however I wouldn't go as far as saying the CCC is dreadful. It's dated for sure now, but at the time it was okay.

Yeah it's not great. I stopped using it in my pre-lci and ended up just relying on my phone. The A7 I had after my pre-LCI had google maps in the car, but my 2011 LCI has good enough nav that I don't miss that from the A7.

yeh the newer lci cars nav is great!!! looks great, works great, is great.

That really is a big spec, and if it's the right spec for you , you might be inclined to pay more for it then you believe it's worth purely for his rarity spec wise. i did just that earlier this year

Mine was registered in December 2009 and that has the hard disc nav.

only messing, but yeh the later ones have the hard drive based idrive, which is worlds apart if you have used both systems [emoji106]

Hi, thanks for the advice so far. I will only be looking at 2011 onwards 40d cars so they will all have the hard drive based system, had a 2008 535d since 2009 so I'm well used to the old fashioned DVD based nav system and definitely don't want it again.
