i recently purchased a 2011 plate X5 ,From a dealership inc warranty ,a couple of weeks ago i found a fault with my N/S mirror where ,when i folded the mirror in (electric)it seemed to make a clicking sound and jump out of position as the days went by this got worse and eventually to the point where the folding mechanism stopped working and the mirror stopped adjusting ,so no the mirror is inoperable ,i rang the dealership who took it in this morning and checked it under the warranty ,they have now come back and told me there is water ingres in the A Pillar which has leaked onto the loom/carrier plug causing corrosion ,he told me there was green mould on the plug and that this type of thing is not covered under the warranty,would anyone now if he is right or wrong ,I'm more concerned that if there is a leak on my car why has it only just started why has this not happened before or are they trying to fob me off to make me pay for a inherent fault,as this could happen again and again .

I would fight that tooth and nail.

Car not of saleable quality and how would you check it as an owner?  Water ingress would not come under fair wear and tear in my book.  I suspect they failed to check it properly and waited for you to find it - as too many BMW Dealers are prone to do.
