New owner of 55 plate 3.0D and looking forward to owning and driving my first X5.

Is the Bluetooth option fitted to the car? It was not included as standard. You need the PIN too. That is usually written on the module in the left boot cubby, or a Dealer can tell you from the VIN.
If it is fitted (and working) you will need to delete all existing pairings (it's on the forum somewhere) and then start again. The version of Bluetooth only supports a limited range of functions and it will depend upon what phone you are using. BMW released 14 different modules to try and get it right!
