loose boot trim

Post by Smeeagain » Sun Jan 23, 2011 10:46 pm

My 2004 E53 X5 3.0d Sport (and I should have inlcuded this spec info in my last two topic postings) has loose interior trim where the internal handle (on drivers side) is located but I cant see any trim or screws to be tightened up - does anyone have any suggestions?

The door card? Tried pushing it hard back into place (around the edge of the trim)? Otherwise the white clips are snapped, missing - no biggie (eBay) and a refit...

If you mean the handle itself smee it's bolted on from the other side of the doorcard so you will have to remove the door card to re tighten it.Otherwise as Sanj says it's probably the plastic locating lugs poped out from where it's been of before.
Pull the panel away from the door gently and you will be able to see where the plastic clips push in ;)

EDIT: Ignore this then

No need buddy - I'm bein the div!

Look where the grab handle is (2 screws in there) and where th elights are (unclip with the plastic nect to them with aflat blade screwdivers) and you will reveal two more phillips screws. Then, use force and kahoonaas to pull the trim away which is all on poppers.

Oh and as long as this is an E53, the above applies.
