Parking light bulb

Post by Gareth83 » Sat Oct 24, 2015 5:58 pm

I received a message on my dash saying "check park light" so I did and noticed the F/O/S bulb had gone, no problem I thought to myself so I removed the small unit inside the headlight unit with houses the bulb and it says on it 12v 10w. So trundled off down to my local Halfords for a replacement however they only had 12v 6w and 12v 4w bulbs available. So I thought to myself rather than have a bulb out I will buy the 6w bulb as a temporary measure until I can sauce a 10w bulb. However when I went to fit the bulb the 2 small bayonet type fittings where not centred on the bulb meaning it would not fit

Maybe try an old school motor factors? I go into my local 'car shop' (they type we all used to go to before Halfords existed to buy polish, exhaust repair kits etc and just hand over the buld and say I need one of these please - I dont doubt you're strugglign but have to say Ive never had a problem with that particular buld

The downside of ebay is you cant alway tell froma photo that you are getting precisely what you want
