Any electronics / automotive wiring geniuses on here?

So heres the issue on my van i have orange led marker lights down the side, i would like these to flash with my indicators when indicating but when the indicator is cancelled to remain lit as markers, at the minute i have the earth from the sides wired to the live of the indicator feed, this does what i describe but out of sequence ie the sides are on when indicator is in flash position off and off when indicators ae on on which means the flash nearly but id like them in sequence, once the indicators is cancelled the work again as side markers,
Now im not daft but its fring my head, i think its possible using a 5 pin relay or 2 and perhaps a diode, also it is possible as a few people have this set up running but knowone seems to want to give up the secret!!
