Hi

Not been on here for ages but need help please.

I've just bought a 54' 4.8is and found a lead in the drinks holder that is a 3.5mm headphone jack that I would presume is plugged into the oem stereo/nav unit to enable iPod / iPhone use.

Tried plugging my phone in but no joy. Where do I listen to it? Is it on AV on the TV? If so I only get a mute on the screen and can't get rid of it. Can't see any other channels that I could go through.

Thanks

Mike

Did you select 'Aux' on the head?  The OEM install uses that.

You also need the earphone volume turned right up.

Thanks

Yeah I put the head unit onto Television, then onto AV, but all I get is a blank screen with Mute displayed that I can't switch off. I presume this works as it looks like someone was using it to connect an iPhone/iPod....and yeah volume was right up.

On the Head unit press the "Mode" button this will let you scroll through Radio,Tape, CD, Aux then as Richard said make sure the volume is up on your Ipod or Phone. The AV channel in the TV settings is if you have a DVD player or Freeview tuner added.
Thats assuming the Jack is connected to something? If the previous owner ran a Grom or Media bridge this would have replaced the CD player in the boot the Jack could have been left behind if they put the CD back

Hmmm. Maybe that's what's happened. When I scroll through the menu I get radio , cd, tape but no AUX. I'm presuming that means nothing is plugged into it then. :(
