Headlight Washer fault

So as the title says, my headlight washers are staying out every time I scoosh my lights. They pop up and scoosh but don't go down. I have to push then down. No amount of WD40 has made the situation better.
Any thoughts on a fix?????

Usually that means 'replace'.
Avoid WD40 on plastics as it can makes things worse. Silicon or ceramic lubes only.

I have the same problem on my 2007 E70.
Tried WD-40 - didn't work.
Used a silicon lubricant I got with my Arai crash helmet and it worked all summer - but they have just started sticking again.
What's weird is that they only need a light push and they whizz back in.
Might try the silicon lube again.

Sorry for dragging up an old topic but has anybody fixed their headlight washers after they have been sticking?
One of mine on the X6 is sometimes sitting out a bit after use and wondered if the only option is spraying with a lube.
As with the above, it doesnt take much to push it back in and as I understand it is a spring that brings it back into place, so what is it that goes wrong? Does the spring lose its tension?
Can these be removed and repaired or stripped and cleaned properly?
I think I saw they are around £70 each to replace so would rather try and fix the ones that are on it first.

If you do lube, only use a silicon one to avoid damaging the plastics. Never seen one stripped and repaired.
Mine are 6 years old now and (at present) fine.

Are the Headlight washers visible from the driver seat when they washing the headlights? On my old E53 i knew when the washers were doing their thing but i can't see any fluid being squirted on my lights on my E70, I am not even sure they are popping up.

You can see the spray mist over the front of the bonnet when they have been activated.

I don't see any spray over bonnet so i am assuming they do not work, Time to think about delving into the hidden fuse box me thinks.

Spray should occur every couple of times or so as long as the lights are on. Should run twice - they do on my X6
