Ask a Dealer.  But they will only hold data from official services - fine if you have a BMWFSH.

I think BMW GB can also tell you - for a fee!

Interesting point, personally I have always viewed the service book as evidence of 3 things (1) The previous owner cared about the car (2) The book has been stamped (3) Sadly the stamp doesn't mean that the work was carried out correctly we can only assume?
The first thing I always do is invest in a full service myself no matter what the book says has been done, with the X's Engine, Diffs & Transfer box + Gearbox. Then a refurb of the suspension, (now touches wood) so far so good apart from a failed diff bearing we have enjoyed the cars greatly.
BMW will not be alone in going this route I am sure, so service invoices will become an important document moving forward unless of course we all only buy from a Main Dealer. Fortunately I keep copies of all service invoices and invoices for any parts as part of the cars history and always have but whether they would get passed on at trade in?
