Has anybody removed there dpf , so they can get it properly cleaned out.
Mine seems to ping up the fault code every 6 months or so...
Ide love to remove it altogether but our "EU" laws prohibit this...
How accessable is it to a competent home mechanic.?
Is there a guide anywhere on how to remove it.?
Thanks...

Are you doing a lot of short journeys?  Short journeys will kill a DPF.  A dealer can force a regen cycle which should help.  There are ways of cleaning them in situ too - much easier than cutting the pipes etc.

You need to regularly do runs of not less than 20 minutes AFTER the engine is fully warmed up and driving faster than 40mph in a lower gear to keep the revs around 2,000 - 2,500.

If you aren't doing short journeys and have a high mileage on the car, then you may just need a new DPF if the treatments don't work for long.
