Hi Guys
Just back from hols , car idle for 2 weeks and when reversing the passenger(Lhs) mirror has stopped auto adjusting to allow view of the kerb. The manually controlled remote adjustment still operatesfrom the door control but only inwards/outwardsplane of motion. I've stripped down the mirror and there's only 1 motor which is obviuosly still functioning as there is still motion on the in out range and the remote folding still operates.. Presumably there is wear within the drive which is preventing the up/down range of motion ? The auto fold still works. Anybody ever stripped one of these down? Are spares available ? How much for a new motor?
An alternative would be to swap over the RHS motor for the LHS one as I never really adjust the drivers side but really do miss the "kerb avoidance" benefit of the auto adjust.
Any thoughts suggestions greatly appreciated
Cheers

I trust the switch was in the correct position on the driver's side ....

Yes
I can adjust the mirror "in /out" but the "up/down" range of movement is not functioning. If there is only 1 motor to control all the movement ranges including folding the mirrors then presumably the issue is mechanical?

Ah ok, I did not read it properly to see that the up / down movement was not working manually either.

Guys
Having researched a wee bit more there is in fact 2 motors within the 1 package, each has a worm gear which drives a cog, this is an obvious wear point. I need to get a T10 torx driver to get into the motors themselves as the torx screws are recessed in a blind hole which is to small for my Torx sockets to access >:(
Once I've got the right tools I'll update you with my progress
