Asking in behalf of a mate who is thinking of getting a bigger car as he now has 3 kids under the age of two (!)
He asked if you can fit three booster type seats across the back of an X5 E53 ?
Anyone know or done this?

Child seats
Re: Child seats
I think it depends upon the fittings that the seats require, and seat belts. The Owner's manual should say something about it?
I think it is possible if you have three full seat belts - I can't remember what type the middle one is :-[

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: Child seats
Its a squeeze, but you can even fit 3 fullsize child seats into the rear of an E53. Therefore 3 boosters should be no issue. See a few examples http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?s=14d55b9db8882e53c59d8158bc60897c&t=179587&page=2
The E53 obviously has 3 full size seatbelts, including the middle one.

Re: Child seats
The E53 does have 3 full lap/sash seatbelts and anchor points in the back.
I have tried 3 seats and the capsule types from birth to 4 years, all facing forward would not fit side by side - just too wide.
If the middle one was facing backwards, then they fitted.
I would think three boosters (6months onwards ones) would fit as they are usually a bit thinner.
It really is going to depend on the type and brand of seats used, but I would expect no matter which car you have they are going to be a tight fit.

Re: Child seats
I bought the X5 specifically because I needed to get three child seats side by side as expecting third in September.
I've test fitted and can just about get three, two maxi cosi axxis seats ( N/S and middle) and a maxi cosi cabriofix in a isofix base.
It's a tight squeeze, and may end up having to fix the base in using the seatbelt as it enables it to move about 50mm closer to the door.
The rear side bolsters are quite large, so I may end up modifying one to enable it to better fit.
