Webasto coming on when unlocking or opening doors

Hi guys

My webasto heater fan comes on for around 40 seconds every time when unlocking or opening any doors.

In fact anything that wakes the car up from sleep seems to set it off.

I removed the exhaust from wing and cold air is blowing out.

Is this normal behaviour.

How can I test the heater works properly ?

If this is unusual where do I start ... And is there any specialists who can put right.

Mine used to too.  It should not start up though unless the air temp is <5C.  I always thought it was just a purge cycle but it might not have been.
