DSP poor sound

Post by steve1986 » Thu May 21, 2015 12:24 am

Hi guys.

My x5 has the DSP/logic 7.

The car the replaced a 2002 Audi a6 avant and that had the non Bose system (still had a sub built into the side compartment in the boot)  it had much much better base... The BMW seems to transfer sound around the car better and has very good high and mid tones but terrible bass. Very disappointed with the DSP

Interested to know if these characteristics sound right for the dsp or if I have a fault.

Thanks people :)

Hi
I am not sure but assume your car is an E70 model, I know on the earlier e53 the DSP was criticised and a feW have changed thespeakers and upgraded to a different sub.

I know Rajand Sanj have changed their systems on the E53 and X5sport will know which system you have and what options there are from BMW and hopefully they will comment on your post.

on the E70 but assuming the DSP is integral to the system and its a custom fit in the car then as you say the sound for high and Mid range are ok it may be worth checking the speakers for any damage to them and poss swopping for better units which I know a couple of people have done on the E70 to improve the sound.

Worth having a quick search of the forum.
