Valvetronic limp home

Post by Jordielaforge » Sun May 03, 2015 11:31 am

Morning all,
So, I had a camshaft sensor bank 2 fault and fitted a new camshaft sensor as the car was grinding to a halt when up to temp. Reset the fault codes and took it round the block. Whilst doing that I got a very brief spell of misfires and the engine light flashed. It cleared in seconds. Reset the codes as I assumed it was just correcting the timing, but I have noticed in my diagnostics that it says 'Valvetronic limp-home'.
As I have just changed the sensor, is that normal? Do I need to take it for a long run? I am frightened it grinds to a halt again as previously and have to be recovered for the 3rd time!!!!!!
Any help would be appreciated!!!!!
Chris.
