Persuaded the accountant go to BMW Ipswich and ask nicely if they have an E70 that I could have and trade in my E53, Le Mans blue that I bought from them just under 2 years ago (15K).  Nothing wrong with the Le Mans and had it serviced at BMW Ipswich.

I know without seeing it, i would just like a general idea as to a trade in price, I am also aware that it depends what Im trading it in for........would just like an idea please.

Next, E70

I have read quite a few threads on what is ideal and what is going to hurt my wallet,  being Scottish its important  :P

I have seen a few I like on Approved BMW and I know its all down to personal opinion what is required.  I'm in no rush either, time is on my side.

One question, adaptive drive, is this where there is a normal driving mode and sports mode, like the E53, knock the gear lever left and off you go?

I would require, Tow bar/7 Seats....that is it.  Third one doesnt have a tow bar, so does the spec warrant getting this and putting a tow bar on.

Would just like your opinions please.  Andy  ::)

Hi

They all sound nice but for me colour of the car and the engine spec is important as I am sure X5Sport will correct me that the 40d have the 8 speed gearbox where as the 35d is a six speed.

The last one had a panoramic sunroof always seem nice but a few forum member have had problems with on their E70 and appears to be the same as the E53 .

I would, have one with the rearview camera which I think is more useful than the roof as when it's hot you keep the windows up and out the climate control on.

Also a few on here have found the comfort seats better than the standard ones.

But it's worth driving both and you will know what suits you best

Hope that helps a bit assuming the price difference isn't a consideration but each one is bound to be a nice car just check that it all works and the wheels aren't corroding or stone chips near the rear arch which I believe can be is rectified by BMW under a recall where they put a protective film on with the 20" wheels :)

40d is also cheaper to tax and more economical (just!).  Those 2 extra gears make it sublime.  Better iDrive system too.  Both the 40d's look good with the third car on your list looking to be the better spec.

If you can find £4k then surely 40d is way to go

What are the colours.

For me I would want a pan roof but the top view camera is cool.

Ideally if in this ballpark money wise I would aim for a car with top camera plus pan roof - the Hud display appeals too as are heated rear seats which ironically feature on the 1st car.

Decision would of course be easier if all these cars came with more spec as standard.

My advice would be don't rush in if there is fair likelihood you may be able to find a car with essential options within budget.

I note one of the cars had a little service inclusive remaining but that could be worthless if service not due prior to expiry date and worth relatively little if it's just an oil change due.

Buy all three.

Take what you want from them and build up one

Sell the other two on...

One car to your wish list and spec - Sorted..
