So the door handle's not really gone is it - it is still there, but perhaps inoperative. Or are you alerting us to a door handle theft .......?

Yeah "gone" as in broken / not working.....

Be interested to see how much it costs you to get fixed. Mine feels like its going whenever I open the door - that's "going" as in starting to play up / may be broken soon, not packing its bags and leaving me.....

Its a common fault on E53's and there is a fix guide on here but for me personally, I could just as well be reading a washing machine manual in Arabic in terms of being able to follow it or do it myself.

Mine occasionally feels like it is going but I've sprayed some lube in/around the handle area and that seems to ease it off for a few months

Ha ha ha, gone, yes.  It's still there, but it no worky anymore, was thinking of going to BMW at swap it for a E70. :)

Not just because the door handle is broken, it's. 2006 Le Mans Blue, lovely car but I just get the feeling it's the start of a downhill spiral.  I'll do some research but what things do I reply need on the E70.

My car has heated steering wheel, love it on those cold mornings!

Gone indeed :)
