Rear arch m-Sport 20inch wheels

Post by splang » Wed Apr 08, 2015 8:59 pm

HI all,
I have a 40d m-sport. It has the usual pitting around the wheel arch and lower sill (in front of the rear wheel).
I heard that it is possible that BMW had a service advisory on these and they would repair the paintwork and then cover with protect clear plastic.
Does anyone know if this is true?
Thanks
Steve

If fitted with 20" wheels then owners could go back to the supplying dealer under warranty and it would be done.  I don't know how those with other wheel sizes fared, or how long after delivery it had to be done by.  I don't remember anyone on here mentioning it as an advisory, but it could have been.

Yep had mine done under warranty but not sure what happens if you're outside the warranty window. It does take care of the problem once the arches are resprayed and clear film applied

Thank you folks.
I have an AUC would it be covered do you think - or should it have happened? (As in do you think the remedial spray and cover would be done)

I had this done under AUC at a different dealer (purchased car in aberdeen). Local dealer wasn't aware of the issue, but covered it in the end after alittle persuasion :noexpression:

Thank you for the reply. May I ask which dealer did the work in case I need to get mine to contact them?

MK.. but in all honesty I wouldn't recommend them... I'm looking at somewhere else to get it serviced (even under the servicepack)
