Sold on eBay.

£375 plus postage

Intravee II
Alpine TUA-T100DAB
Alpine KCA-420i
Scosche Passport 5v charging adaptor
Long AiNET Cable
Short AiNET Cable
Serial to USB 2.0 Cable to Connect Intravee to Computer for updates
Cable Jive extension cable

Without including the Alpine DAB unit and additional cables this equipment would cost circa £265 from

http://www.toysinyourcar.com/acatalog/intravee.html

The Alpine TUA-100DAB can sell for upwards of £250 on eBay.

This equipment is all in full working condition and is in good condition cosmetically apart from the KCA-420i which has some surface marking on it's casing. This is the way I bought it, however it is in perfect working order and has worked faultlessly in the three years it was installed in my X5.  Once installed it's hidden anyway.

Having sold my E53 X5, I removed this complete set up. I make the assumption that if you're looking at this advert that you have a fair idea of what functions this will give you. If not then it's for playing iPhone, iPod, iPad audio content through the car's speakers and allowing operation through the car's nav screen and controls (works without a nav screen also).

The Intravee also allows the set up of certain features within the car such as auto door locking, mirror folding etc (see photos).

The digital radio function is provided via an Alpine TUA-100DAB unit which are ultra rare and only come up for sale very occasionally. Again, once connected to the Intravee, this allows full operation of DAB stations through the nav screen and vehicle controls. The unit requires a separate DAB aerial and I used this one which was discretely stuck to the outer edge of the windscreen on the passenger side.

My aerial isn't included in this sale as they are a one use application but the JVC extension lead required to mount it on the front screen from the rear of the vehicle is. This will work with other makes of DAB aerial with the same connector type.

The install in the X5 is straightforward enough with plenty of space to mount the different components, the pictures below show some of my positioning of cables and components. The wiring loom I made up using BMW connectors makes the installation plug and play with no need to use a separate power source for the DAB unit and no cutting in to the vehicle's wiring. Apart from plugging the harness into the CD changer connection, you only need to connect the ground cable up to the vehicle. It can be made to look like original equipment.

I still have the same set up in my Z4MC and I wouldn't have a BMW of this era without it installed.  It makes up to a large extent for the ageing technology that's installed in these cars which has been quickly surpassed.

This will also be advertised on Z4-forum before I put it on eBay. I think the price is fair and would be less than that which could be attained on eBay. I'd rather sell it to a forum member and save on eBay fees at the same time. My preference is to sell it together but I'd consider splitting the DAB unit from the rest if I got the right offer. Thanks.

The Alpine TUA-100DAB sits nicely directly under the CD changer in the compartment to the side of the boot.  The Intravee sits to the right hand side of the CD changer.

The KCA-420i can be easily concealed under the rear seat base.  Lift the foam piece near to the rear passenger door and it can be placed in there before replacing the foam.

The Apple connector cable can then be led from the KCA-420i under the carpet and into the storage compartment in the centre console.  This is the most awkward part of the installation and for me involved attaching the cable on to a wire coat hanger and a lot of frustration until I eventually got the cable under the centre console.  The storage bucket pulls out and the cable feeds through one of the existing holes which has to be cut slightly bigger

Of course, I'm not in a desperate rush.  I was going to put it on eBay on Sunday but I'll hold off.
