Well after my handbrake incident, I found myself in very unfamiliar territory!! a Mercedes Dealership haha. Ive never gone to the dark side ever, but I think I am going to go for a C220 class brand new in AMG line Premium Plus spec. Deal is fantastic, car looks superb in and out!!

Can't blame you for wanting to defect. I thought Merc dealers were as bad as Landrover Dealers! You could go really dark and buy an Audi.....or a Leaf..

Merc dealers are atrocious but that is a nice car
One of my young staff had one as a loan car when they first came out when her C63 was kaput.

Ps surely with the leaf in toe you should be looking at the new C63 to offset your greeness !!!

Well just ordered a c220 amg premium plus auto.
Arrives in May. Went for black interior and toss up between the Iridium Silver and White for me, they were the two colours I preferred.
Spec on it is absolutely fantastic:
AMG styling interior / exterior
Park assist ( brilliant to test out )
LED dipped and main beam
Elec memory seats / wheel
Camera
Sat nav
Bluetooth
Voice control ( best I have used ) actually works flawlessly
Pano Roof
Ambient lighting inside
Heated seats
Bernstein sound system
touch pad control system
keyless entry and start
powered boot lid
dab radio
collision prevention assist plus
driver fatigue aid
rear led full lamps
Intelligent braking
I love it, dare I say it, think its far better looking / spec'd than equivalent 3 series !! ( maybe not as good a drive but the styling is far nicer Inside and out.

Looks very smart, great spec. New house, new car, good times
A friend has recently traded in his X6 for a CL63, he's well impressed with it.

Well after that handbrake on the 2007 X5 went the other day for £1000, it had me thinking, whats next?? time to get out and into warranty!! the leaf if warranted, as will this new one be, so we know where we are now, no hidden surprises! I don't feel like Im missing out as the spec is that good.
Thanks Ice [emoji106][emoji106]

I noticed that more and more manufacturers are going with electric handbrakes now. Must be the in thing I guess. Hopefully those from Ford, GM, VAG etc will be a little cheaper than the silly price of the BMW one.
What are you going to do about the busted one on yours, or is it now fixed? Was there any indication of what had actually broken or did the part vanish into the BMW broken bits 'black hole' never to be publicly acknowledged.....

70,300 miles, heads up display, heated rear bench, heated front seats, entertainment pack, xenons, freeview tv, lighting pack, dynamic, aero, reverse camera, upgrade sound system, all 4 wheels have no curb marks, bridgestone all round, discs and pads like new, hopefully it should sell!! 2 previous owners ( last owner had it since 2008 ) what would you all think a reasonable price? car is immaculate.

I had one of these as a loan car for 2 days. Diesel 220 & 250 are noisy in comparison to the BMW. Very nippy & fast I found, but too noisy for a premium car. I didn't like the I Pad screen which looks like it's been clipped on to the dash either. Underwhelmed unfortunately although I did try my hardest to like the new C.

I can honestly say, with 70mpg and £20 a year road tax it really doesnt bother me how noisy the engine is, I found it gruff on start up and once settled down and making progress was absolutely fine, would t say noisy atall, just coarse. The X5 3.0 d is always going to sound better as its a 6 cylinder, the 320d doesn't sound that fantastic either so Im not too bothered.
Has one been reading reviews? as you comment on both the 220 and 250?
I did toy with the c200 petrol as do I really need a diesel??
Regarding the screen, that interior is waay nicer than any of BMW's current offerings, even with the stuck on screen ( I happen to love ). The ambient lighting looks brilliant, the whole package works for me with the premium plus kit, and AMG spec, it makes the car a very pleasant place to be.
Bored of 22mpg and £500 a year road tax if honest. Plus added expensive bills of bits going wrong, Mercedes here I come.
I will miss the X5, but not for long probably [emoji1]
