radio knob removal 2004 E53 3.0 d Autos

Hi
Can anyone tell me how to remove the radio volume knob (small detailing project) - I've tried just pulling it off but it doesn't want to seem to come and I don't want to break it - am I missing a trick somewhere?

Have you got the Mid or the satnav version. I had the MID until I fitted an aftermarket headunit. The mid one just pulled off , sorry can't help if it's a sat nav car.

Same on the SatNav one - just pulls off, small click to get past.
