e53 headlight lenses

instead of trying to sand down with wet n dry, has any one tried these??

I've not tried those buy a restoration kit it's easy and far far cheaper I did.

WOW, those replacement lenses look good, and not expensive either ...

BUT,

If any one sees any replacement lenses to fit an E53 facelift from 2004... I'd get a set, as mine are stone chipped and damaged a bit....

The trouble is the sealant they have used in the headlights to keep the lenses in..

Up to some point in 2003 the sealant could be softened by applying heat and pulling the lenses off gently.
Then they changed it and the only way to get them off is to cut them off.
You may be able to gouge out the remnants but it is not an easy or pretty job..

The opportunity for abismal failure is rife.
I know from experience..  What i thought would be a hour or two turned out to be 3 days in the end...
Cutting around them and re-sealing is probably the only option on later builds.

The build date of the lights is moulded to the casings in a clock like shape...
