I want one as well,  mines corroded a little,  wondered about powder coating.
There was one for sale on eskip a while ago and I missed out on it.

Yeh I only need the plastic bit. BMW will only sell me the whole wing mirror at a cost of £400.

Ive written to the COE in the UK but "The computer says NO" >:(

Cars haven't had 'wing mirrors' since the seventies, they are all on the doors now

Have you tried and car scrap dealers? X5's can be found there

This individual part will only be sold as part of a complete mirror unit assembly unfortunately.

If yours has cracked or split, then possibly remove it, and repair it if possible... other than that, it looks like you will have to settle for the whole unit.
