Post by Marius » Mon Jan 10, 2011 4:06 pm

Hi there,

Im looking to upgrade my h8 angel eyes bulbs to bright white and number plate bulbs to 18 smd led license plate lamps with 7000k color light, i was looking on google for website to buy it and found this one:

http://www.xenonplanet.com/ what do you think about this website? Anybody bought any items here? Im thinking to buy wide angle led bulbs like here:

HIDS4U are UK based and may be an option - at least you won't get hit for import duty and possibly VAT too on top of the USD price....

Mind you, they have some good looking kits on offer. I certainly want to change the boot lid lights on mine to give something brighter. Not worried about the others apart from the Halos though. Those are now coming through with LED OEM but can't be retrofitted which means new light units and loads-a-money no doubt, possibly wiring changes too. :headbang:

I have contacted them and they ship not from USA they ship from UK too :) Im really interested in this kit http://www.xenonplanet.com/bmw-h8-led-a ... e93-e70-x5 never seen before like this I think it should give very good bright color due to wide angle of bulbs, what do you think?

Also I have find out boot lid lights X5Sport! Check out these lights mate http://www.xenonplanet.com/bmw-18-smd-l ... ent-lamp-1

It looks good, but as always, the proof will be what the installation looks like once it's in.

Have you got UK prices if they send from here too? Just had to pay for this year's holiday and adding that to the cost of the X6 means the wallet is looking a little light. Not sure what I can get past 'financial control' aka The Wife at present :D

Ooops - UK prices are on their website, and they appear to have an outlet in Milton Keynes. Handy as I work over there occasionally.

I've just ordered some more of the ones that fit in the boot to put in the bottom of the doors, much cheaper than the ones I got for my boot too, I'll let you know of quality when I get them fitted.

Just had a quick email exchange with XenonPlanet who have said their H8 replacements may not be any good as DRL source lamps, which for me means they're no good. Also his luggage compartmwnt lamps are sold as singles which makes changing te boot over somewhat more expensive as I think there are 2 in the tailgate and two in the boot itself. I'll keep looking, and see what Jalf comes up with. I think the prices are too high at present, but that just be me being tight....... :)

My LEDs for the doors arrived this morning, really easy to fit with a tiny bit of trim needing to be shaved off (the holes in the bottom of the doors have slightly rounded corners, the replacement units are a more square) no OBC errors and half the price of the other identical units I got for the boot.
Got them from angel-lights-uk on ebay, thought they were worth a go at the price, very happy.
