Hi, can anyone recommend either a mobile or non mobile towbar fitting company in the North West please?
Also, I have just bought an E70 and traded in my E53 which had a detachable Westfalia towbar. Will the detachable bit fit the E70 or will I need the full kit? The part number is 303 137.
One other question, am I right to suggest I'll be ok towing a motorcycle trailer or a small caravan without having the radiator/fan upgrade thingy done? It's the 40d M Sport LCI model.
Thanks
Jeff

Should get the right kit as it's made for the E70.
The standard car is capable of towing up to 2.7T though that has a more powerful cooling fan. For a M/C trailer & caravan you won't have any problems as the temps will never get that high. You could always put a bigger fan on, but you won't need the rest of the gubbins.
I have a towbar on mine, but not the increased capacity and all I have is an 850W fan instead of a 600W fan. The increased towing kit takes you to 3.5T, and that is when you need extra rads, fans and valve gear to run it.

Thanks Richard. The caravan is only around 1800kg so that will be ok.

By the way, what's the going rate for an E 53 detachable piece then? It's a Westfalia.
