quick pdc module question

Post by Ryoken » Sun Feb 08, 2015 10:35 am

can any one tell me if there is any differences between the pdc module part numbers?.
I have a short to earth error on mine, all pdc sensors are ticking , and ive looked a wiring , so im going to get a new pdc module , I cant find a second hand one  with the same numbers I have, but there seems to be loads of  every other type :)
or is it just a if its the same color  it will work??

Er, well apart from one being from 1999 until 2004 production and the other 2004 onwards I can't tell you.  Could be just a different manufacturer?

well if all they are is manufactorer, numbers , should be ok ,  its amazing how many of the creme white typre that are the same as mine have as many part numbers,
im gearing towards the pdc module being shot on mine ,  thats why the pdc's dont work . but hey ho
its just another thing on my list to fix, so far
passenger mirror wont retract at all and its got a blue teabay mirror in
drivers mirror  will retract, but only till it finds out the passenger one isnt moving then pops back out , and the actual mirror  has "leaked" and it thinks its allways getting dazzled.
and the price of mirrors, jeesh there expensive.
oh and rocker gaskets being done,  50 quid at garage, not too bad

Just a thought,  its also possible to turn off the pdc sensors front or back or both with the scanner tool. i have turned my fronts off as 2 were faulty and i dont wont to remove the bumper to change them. they were throwing the pdc bleeper wild so just turned them all off completely.  its just a tick box option on the scanner software.

You might want to check your PN here:
http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E53/E ... _pdc#pos_1

This site tends to list all possible PNs, both current and obsolete, but only shows one for the PDC module. If this matches what you have, you will probably have to stick with that PN
