replacing the Battery....

Hi Gents / Ladies,
After reading many interesting Battery issues here,
Not checked my voltages recently, but having some interesting symptoms...
Firstly,
When swapping out to a new battery, is there a need to keep the computer powered up to preserve settings & memories, such as seat positions, auto wind up on the window switches etc....
I found a 900 Crank Amp unit Halfords are doing with a 3 yr warrantee for £120...!!
Any better deals out there ??
Secondly,
Thinking I got voltage issues, because,
If I have my Front Fog lights on + dip beams, often when engaging main beam, momentarilly all the lights bail out for a second, the mains come on & the fogs are cancelled...untill I switch them back onnatbthe switch....
At the same time the fogs are cancelled and bail out, some thing tells the light clusters to point the motors that alter the positioning right down very low (momentarilly) - far lower than the trimmer roller switch on the light controlls can ever do...
And imediately after a Suspn Self Level Inactive warning pops up also...
Starting the car on the coldest mornings so far is perfect - instant starts... so the Amps are reaching the starter... just wondering if the lighting issues are symptoms of the battery voltages getting low causing the lighting & computer warnings ?
Opinions & thoughts on this one welcome plz.
Regards to all.
