Hi, I have just purchased a new towbar for my E53 X5. BMW's Installation instructions for parts and accessories 'retrofitting tow bar BMW 9E53) US states that the old bumper carrier is no longer required and to fit new bumper carrier BMW - order no: 51.12-8250415 in bumper and secure.
The suppliers are saying that all parts are supplied and no extra parts are required. Has antone had experiance of fitting a detachable tow bar to the X5 E53 and if can the old bumper carrier be used or is it a new redesigned bumper carrier that is required?
