Is it my eyes or are nearly every X5 I see for sale have corroding 20" 333M style wheels?
Am I best sticking to the 19"?

It's most diamond cut or polished alloy wheels. It a fact alluminium creates oxide. I had my AC Schnitzer wheels powdercoated due to it. VW have the same problem too. Get them powder coated, easier to clean and the brake dust just rinses off. £40/50 a corner

Not very good having to fork out extra £££'s after spending around £30k for one.

Maybe a bargaining tool to get a few hundred pounds off

It's not good as you say when your forking out all that money for a car, only to have to spend more on getting it up to a decent standard.
If I got one I know I would have to do the swirl flap delete, ditch the run flats, powdercoated the wheels.
Good luck with the search
It's also unbelievable how dealers present cars for sale, I wouldn't dream of trying to sell a car with ropey wheels, when I sell them their usually a lot better than when I bought them
