Other diagnostic tools apart from Scanner 1.4\PASoft

Guys, what other diagnostic tools are there to troubleshoot issues with BMW's, in particular, X5's (e53)?
Carsofft, INPA, DIS (otherwise known as GT1), Progmann (successor to DIS), NCSExpert, WINKFP.
INPA is predominantly read only with actuation for testing
DIS etc is dealer level application,
NCSEXpert configures modules (customisation)
WINKFP is the utility the factory uses to initially upload the firmware. VERY HIGH chance to brick your car with this!!!
