Watch out for high-end cars with too-goo-to-be-true prices. Not so much on Pistonheads I don't think, but on sites like Gumtree etc., there are scammers who will advertise what seem to be amazing low prices to get loads of people contacting them. They then either email you back and give you some yarn about how they've had to move abroad at short notice with work, or are getting divorced etc. etc., and that if you wire a deposit to them, they'll get the car delivered to you. Either that or they want to meet you in a layby or similar, hope you've got the cash with you, then relive you of it by force or intimidation. When I was a student I saw a Honda Civic type R for about two grand (was mega cheap at the time) on Gumtree and it turned out to be a scam along the lines of above. Thankfully I realised right at the start something wasn't right.

Now to take my cynical hat off... ;)
