BMW Loyalty!

Post by Buz007 » Wed Jan 28, 2015 9:27 am

Hello Forum People!

I will be collecting my 2007 3.0D SE at the weekend, very happy to be doing so! I am a Site and Facilities Manager for a group of schools and having been recently caught in the snow in my Merc C Class estate thought it was time for a change.
I did briefly own the MK1 model years back but it was the petrol version and although running it was a dear hobby it was absolutely spectacular in deep snow and is therefore when looking for a 4x4 I ended up back with an X5 albeit the diesel.

Just wondered if there were any handy servicing hints people have discovered (I like to play about with the spanners in an amateur capacity) and also if there are any common faults to look out for with the E70 model? I'll have a good look through the forum as well as there seems to be some very knowledgeable owners on here!

I'm also the owner of a 16 year old Z3 (forum member over there) which I've had for ages, that's for summer X5's for the winter :drive:

That's not exactly difficult now is it?  Most BMW 'Technicians' can only work with what the computer says.  Too few can work from 1st principles.  Not only that but they don't repair, only replace!

And to the OP, a very warm :hi:

:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Valentine's day soon, Shadrack. I'm sure Dboy will take you out for spin in his Leaf. You will have to walk home though, sadly, when it (and he) runs out of battery.  ;)
