Well, just under 2 months of ownership of my 3.0D X5 and I am loving it!! I scoured Autotrader and eBay until I found one that ticked all my boxes. Mileage was unimportant to me, as long as it had full BMW service history. Found one with 115k on the clock, full dealer history, 2 previous owners (I am now 3rd), Sterling grey, pano sun roof, nappa black leather interior with grey trim, full nav screen etc etc.....
I have fixed niggling issues, made some upgrades, and planned some more....well and truly put my stamp on the car.
So far I have:
Replaced all 4 BMW centre caps with new to compliment the refurbished 19" wheels.
Replaced all interior festoon bulbs with bright white LED.
Replaced horrible yellowish angel eyes with Cree LED version
Cleaned out blue gunk from the windscreen washer tank and got all washer jets working (thanks to this forum for that one)
Repaired DVD Nav drive by fitting new internals
Upgraded to V32.6 software, with 2015 maps, speed camera and traffic light camera alerts
Repaired BM54 amp with stage 2 upgrade and iPod connectivity (Thanks to Baris at Carphonics!)
Tinted rear windows with 20% film
Fitted front tinted wind deflectors
Replaced missing sill rubber grommets.
Bought new plastic boot liner with carpet insert
Bought new BMW key ring
Bought new BMW document wallet for paperwork
Next up:
Convert analogue TV module to digital
Install 2 x rear screens (for the kids)
Replace front kidney grills with matt black version
Replace front upper broken plastic grill with new matt black
Replace front lower plastic grill with new matt black
Am sure there will be something else to add to the 'to do' list, but for now I am enjoying comfy motoring.
Will get some pics up soon.

Is this Pre/Post LCI?
I replaced my grills on my pre-LCI with matt black and they were a terrible fit which made it near impossible to open the bonnet. I'd suggest you either take time to source good after markets or consider spraying/plasti-dipping BMW grills!

Excellent advice there, thanks for that. I must admit the costs vary greatly on eBay for the black grills, I have seen them as low as £36 all the way up to £70-£80.
I have seen a few reports of people spraying their own, so will look into that in the spring.
