1. the positive battery connector in the engine bay, should it be on the engine or the body?,. reason why I ask is , mines connected the the bulkhead, however I have 2 small screw holes on the left silly head (where it should live)
2. wing mirrors, my driver ones is dipable , like my rear view mirror , but my other is blue , is this normal ? or should they be both "dippable"

1. In my car the positive terminal is on the bulkhead, near side, and with a black plastic clip cover which has a + symbol upon it.
2. Mine has the near side dip when reverse is engaged, but switching the mirror select does not make the rhs mirror dip.

cheers, ,
right I've woken up a lot since I posted that
the actual glass itself, drivers one is light sensitive and heated, the passenger one is just blue,
reason why im asking about the battery terminal is I've been watching utube vids on how to change the rocker gaskets, my next job to do , and all the cars have batt terminals on the actual engine , and with mine having little holes already there I thought mine had just been moved for some reason

The holes in the head are prob for when fitted to an alternate vehicle.
X5 are on the bulkhead standard AFAIK
Sounds like someone has replaced that mirror glass with bulk standard glass as the chromatuc jobbies were approx 3 times the price...

As they were on my X5 and are on my X6 and E46, +ve on bulkhead, -ve on body. Blue mirror is the cheapo fixed tinted glass. Either one got broken or the fluid leaked so was replaced with the cheaper option.
