Re: Wheel spacers?
Just done exactly that to my 2004 facelift.
I did fit the standard 185 width wheel/tyre combo all round, and noticed the rear track was approx. 25mm each side narrower at the rear...
Fitted a set of bolt-on 30mm wide spacers each side, handling improved notable, as the rear track is now matching the fronts perfectly.
I did a little research on this, and found that with narrower tyres, the offset from centre is exassipated by any hub extensions...
however, with 285 width tyres/rims combo, the effect on the suspension/camber angles is negligible.
After fitting mine to the rears only, the cornering & stability has improved nicely.... but beware, the car is wider as a result, and the wheels will readily clip kerb corners if not enough attention is being paid - as I found out lol.
PM me for some good pics.
Private mail me for images.
