I have a standard tape player in my x5, and was wondering what options I have to upgrade.
either after market or bmw units

BMW units don't fit so aftermarket is your option, or fit an iPod adapter system.  Several have done it on here if you have a search about.  Look for Android, Hualingen, DICE, Intravee.

If you want to fit an after market unit you lose the obc. I have a full kit to convert to single DIN head unit including fascia adapter all wiring and aerial adapter. Yours for £25 posted within the UK looks like this in the X5.


I carbon wrapped it to match my dash but is black plastic now.

If I get in trouble for posting it here I'll move it to the FS section.

Just to be clear doesn't include the kenwood Head unit. Is available seperatly.

No. Theyr shit. Hardly any testing, poor after sales support and generally inferior quality. Buy a double din branded unit. That will be your best option and inexpensive.

Might just pick up an after market double din.
