Today I took the X5 up the Bealach Na Ba on the Applecross peninsula (Google it, and there are many you tube videos too) - an absolutely superb drive with a wonderful view of the Isle Of Skye. Its just short of 2,100 feet to the top and it started snowing halfway up which made the hairpin bends rather interesting to say theeelast but didn't really have any problems non winter tyres(285 Bridgestone's on the rear, and 255 coopers on the front (19 inch wheels) if anyone is interested - 2004 E53 3.0d Sport)
Seriously, this is a drive you have to do sometime if you can. As we're staying local I'm going back to do it again tomorrow.
