Morning. ..

I put the beast in reverse and looked at the off side mirror and it failed dip.

I tried to adjust it manually and no luck, it would move left to right just not up and down.  Driver side is fine manually.

The nearside mirror only dips in reverse if you have the selector set to the offside mirror.  This doesn't explain why you can't move it manually though.

I have the very same issue, it's not a major PITA but it is a feature I found very useful to save kerbing my wheels. I have stripped the mirror apart using a "How to guide" just to see what was involved. An entire mirror replacement is exceptionally expensive, so that's a non starter :P My driver side mirror is fully functioning so I was contemplating stripping that down to rob and swap the operational motor in the driver side to the inoperative one on the passenger side, which I have read is a straight swap. I'll let you know how I get on. :xmaswink:

9 times out of 10, the NS reversing mirror doesnt dip as the left/right elec mirror switch on the drivers side door handle has been knocked into the wrong position.

I have done this many times, and always shout and swear thinking its broken when it isnt!!
