No stamp in service book!

Got my F15 serviced on Friday and questioned why the service book wasn't stamped. Apparently it's all stored in the key. Is this something the car industry is moving towards? If I want to sell the car I would have to drag the potential buyer to a BMW dealership to prove the full BMWSH!? I got my Golf serviced recently too (same age as the F15) and got a stamp in the service book. Thinking I might go back and insist on my stamp...

My Dealer does the same. Nothing in the book as it's all stored on BMW servers, and mine was serviced about a month ago.
Of course the issue comes when you take the car somewhere else other than BMW, or you need a copy of the service history.
I think they call it 'progress'.....

Marketing ploy to 'emotionally lock' owners into continuing servicing through main dealer. :cigar:

Mazda do the same - you can get a summary report from it.

My dealers rarely stamp the service books these days. It's all on the central system, and you can persuade dealers to print the record out if you need it. As suggested, it's "progress"!
