I think you can buy a square bar adapter for them from Thule !

nope no adaptors, just buy shorter bolts and fix directly to the bars.
Anyone get a severe humming noise from theirs when you get to 50mph??

My square bars make a right noise at 50 mph and gets worse as you go faster. When the roof box is in its much quieter.

I had some thule bars on my E53 for my Hydraulic bike racks, they were fairly quiet, bought some roof bars for the Golf from Micks Garage, of the Internet, can't remember the make but OMG had to turn back after half a mile. The whistling noise was unbearable at 40 MPH and above.
I wrapped all the slots with insulation tape, especially the ones underneath, tested it it out on the road again, hey presto it was perfect. So well worth trying

Over the noise of kids and wife's dodgy directions the hum from the bars is quite relaxing. TBF I don't have the bars on unless the box is on or I'm picking something up, the mpg is bad enough with out the bars.
But will look at the gaps in the bars.

cheers lads, it seems its the gap in the top of the bars that causes it so will go in search of some infill strip to fit, pretty sure they sell it on ebay.
