Anyone running these on the X ?

I've used the FK453 on my daily driver a couple of years back and got on well with them both longevity and wet/dry performance.

Rear Bridgestones are just about done and for the same price I can get a set of 4 Falkens (20s)

Running a pair on the back of mine, very happy with them, though they're sitting in the garage now, got my winter wheels on.  I replaced a pair of cheap Chinese things that were on the X5 when I bought it. Much quieter and smoother riding with better grip. Micheldever Tyres recommended them.

Good stuff Dave. Rears are £140 each at Oponeo, which seems a bargain !

Just put the winters on ours at the weekend, hence noticed the wear on very inside edge. Rear camber looked fine but was sitting at -3, now wound back to -2.

Cant comment on the Falken never having tried them - in fact I haven't actually heard of them.

But ....Vredestein Wintrac Extreme 265/65/17 on Oponeo are only £120 each ...... They are absolutely superb tyres in snow/ice and always fare well in the reviews

Thanks Smeeagain, I`ve got 17" winters already though. Its 315/35/20 Summers I`m replacing.

£120, is a great price for the Vreds though !

315 is a big tyre! 20 inch 315 will not fare you well in heavy snow - hope you don't get much where you are !

I've heard good things about the falkens you mentioned at a track day recently although they were on a sportier rwd German performance car.

Yeah, the 452s were always popular with BMW owners (I used them as road tyres on a supercharged M3), I've used these newer 453s since but only on a FWD estate car and these cc version are meant to be designed for sporty SUV driving. Hence I wanted to see if anyone had tried them - there's very little in the way of real world opinion on them.

My dad has had a set of these on his X5. Rears didn't last long at all, 10,000 miles max. Wear was completely even across the whole tyre, no nasty edge wear and no alignment problems. The fronts are still going after 23,000 miles and still a fair bit left yet. They seem quite enough and do have a good meaty tread pattern, no apparent problems with wet grip either. They hold the road well but it is a x5 so doesn't get driven hard. Tbh I like my tyres soft so they grip so if it was mine I would use them again
