Hello everyone, new e53 owner

Post by Phil D » Fri Dec 31, 2010 11:31 am

Hi everyone, i picked up an e53 3.0d sport two weeks ago.

I've had a few BMWs, an e34 525ix touring, e39 525i Touring, and an e91 320d m sport i just sold to get the X5.
I must say the build quality seems better than my e91 more like the e39.

I've already fixed the bluetooth, from reading Roy's experience on here.

After an hour of trying to get it to pair, i found the wires in the centre arm rest were cut through.
Some soldering and heat shrinking repaired it, now working perfect with my iphone 4 (all done at -6c my wife thinks i'm crazy but i had to get it working!) - thanks :D

I 'm sure i'll have plenty of questions to ask, I want to get the timed aux heating working next..

Welcome aboard

E34 525ix touring a blast from the past when BMW dabbled with introducing 4WD to 3 & 5 series before deciding there wasn't enough uk demand.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

AW8 the 525ix was a fantastic car, got through the snow great.

Although I did learn early with it that 4wd doesn't stop you any quicker - nearly ended up in the cow shed at my parents in laws farm :o

x models for the 3 and 5 series not uncommon over here. Ironic as they have to sail past the UK to reach Canada!
