Toying with idea of changing fluid myself or getting local garage to do so.
Mindful of issues reseting the 2 year brake fluid warning lamp/clock.
I have read posts on this (mostly on xoutpost). Not convinced thus far that this can be done without risk of messing up. Aware of how to access hidden codes via dash but fluid clock reset info online is not clear.
I only have a peake reset tool - fine for codes and service lamps but doesn't reset the brake fluid clock.

Has anyone here successfully reset an E53 brake fluid clock ?

Re: Has anyone here successfully reset an E53 brake fluid clock ?
I recently bought a dedicated X5 OBD plug in module to hook to my laptop......
It wasnt expensive, I will see if it opens the right files for fluid reset & see if it will do what you need....
Just need a dry weekend to go out and fiddle in the car tho. !
It was about £45 from Flea-Bay.

I reset mine , took 20 seconds. You can do it via the odometer and the other reset buttons on the binnacle. Found the how too on YouTube, it was in a video that shows you how to reset all the service indicators without the need for a scanner or reset tool. Easy peasy

Excellent... I like fixes this simple

Re: Has anyone here successfully reset an E53 brake fluid clock ?
Thanks I will take a look at that.
Do you know if the fluid clock can be reset independently of the service lamps ? This would be to cater for me doing the insp 2 ( if red and amber show) , on one day and then perhaps doing the brake fluid a couple of weeks later, ( even if it was on at same time as the service due lamp originally).
Sorry if I am being needy re this

Re: Has anyone here successfully reset an E53 brake fluid clock ?
Yes the light/orange clock can be reset individualy from the service lights , I had mine serviced and the lights reset, then the Orange clock appeared several weeks later. The garage did a moisture check on the fluid at the time of service and said it didn't need changing, the car only did 7K miles since the last fluid change , but 2 years.
I only use my personel cars at the weekend, as I have a van for work during the week.
You can toggle between the service indicators that need resetting with the odometer buttons.

Thanks very much - most helpful. If I do this or get local garage to do so & get stuck after viewing the video I may get back to you if that is ok.
Still to make decision re whether it goes to dealer Indy or gets my attention....discussed in another thread I started.
