What's the general consensus on Dunlop Sport Max vs Michelin Diamaris please? Car had Dunlops fitted in the factory but I'm almost needing new ones after 15,000 miles and not sure if the Michelins would be better?

Sorry if this has been covered already...

Rear - 315/35/20/110w
Front - 275/40/20/106w

Many thanks.

Cheers
Scott

The Diamaris I had on my E53 lasted just over 24,000 miles for a set and I used 2 sets.  Like you I have the Dunlops and am less than impressed.

I think there is a new Michelin SUV tyre that might be a better option as the Diamaris is getting long in the tooth as a design now  - although not as an RFT - but I don't know if Michelin offer it for 20" rims.

I'm looking at a Continental ContiSport 5 (P) which is available in Germany and is an RFT.  It has a better rating label than the Dunlop, but isn't cheap.  I saw them on tyreleader.co.uk

Thanks as always Richard. Saw the Contisport ones you mentioned, I think they were about £60 per tyre more than the Dunlops. I think I've got about 3 mm left and don't want to go much more...will bite the bullet tomorrow me thinks. I can get the Dunlops fitted for £1184 at my local garage through black circles. Will give tyre leader a look too then decide.

Dukester, Did you get that out of a X5 40D ? What inch wheels have you got ? What pressure are you running?
Thanks

ex540d,

Yep X5 40D M Sport with 20s.  Just stuck to recommended pressures. The outside went first which is common but still legal on the rest of the tyres both front an rears
