How to remove/replace Steering wheel trim

hiya,
any hints on how to remove 'worn' steering wheel plastic trim? thx

There's a how to on the sight somewhere, do a search. I replaced mine when I had an E53, bought a new one from BMW via EBay.

Don't bother painting the old trim buy a new one, approx £30/35 via EBay from a dealer 2 year warranty too ;D ;D

Guess key is to take out the fuse #15 for airbag and the rest should be relatively straight fwd?

Better to disconnect the battery as it takes very little stray current to fire the squib!

Would agree best to disconnect battery when unplugging airbags. You could wrap the worn part and save a few quid.

I would only wrap it if it's going to match other trim. Nothing worse than a piece of trim that clashes with everything else. @ £35 it's not worth the risk IMO.
