Rear cv boot??

Post by Paddy1001 » Wed Oct 22, 2014 10:46 pm

Hi all,

Having recently bought a second hand e70, I have been going through the car fixing and tidying a few wee bits that were annoying me.
I took all the wheels off last weekend to clean them properly and discovered that I had a split in one of the rear outer cv boots that must have only just happened as the car is not long through mot nor was there that much grease thrown out yet.
I checked on realoem but could not find the part number for a rear boot on its own, just the full drive shaft so I called my local dealer yesterday and they said BMW do not do a rear boot alone for my car and I would need to buy the full shaft. I checked today with a few local auto parts stores and none of them could supply me with a spurious boot either!!
Has anyone else ever had this issue or know what I can do to fix it without buying a full new half shaft?
(The car is a 2008 3.0sd)

Thanks in anticipation!
Paddy

I think you can get kits on line which may do the job.

Have you had a look at someone like Eurocarparts?
