Hi Guys

So just getting used to bits and bobs in the X and this is my first Bmw I've had with the nav system in it so unsure how to update use the television and functions ect

Is it just purely getting up to date disc for the functions of so where is best to get them as I'm guessing from the stealers it would cost a lot

Any help info tips would be appreciated

Thanks again

You will need to post your cars build date, as the x5 only started to fit Digital TV tuners from I think late 2004, but I'm sure someone will tell you the actual date ( prompt : X5 Sport, or Sanj )
It's always a good idea to put what varient and year of manufacture on your signiture help others help you as many things are build date orientated.
As for satnav updates V32 was the latest firmware update for the E53. Discussion on non OEM satnav discs is prohibited on this site for legal reasons , so beware :)

Thanks fella the X5 build was 2001 51 plate I've found out its a MK3 version and doing a wee bit off googling about ect seems I would be better getting the MK4 box for the boot as seems to be better bit of kit or going non OEM type at most I can update maps on this but still won't give you the postcode search ect so think upgrade is best way to go

Late on the cue but.......Hybrid Tuners were first installed from Oct 2004 builds, Mk 4 Nav came with the 'Facelift' in late 2003.
