My first x5 but no stranger to Bmw and no stranger to SUVs
Have to say, this is the first 4x4 that feels like a performance saloon on stilts, but I'm glad I got it.

This is she... Nothing fancy.
As for performance saloons, been a while but used smoke around in an alpina b8 and a GS300 Lexus with NOS. SO, I have some idea from back in the day.
That said, we are thinking rs4 or 6 avant for the family car, so I take your point.
