Been looking at the bmw scanners on ebay but they all seem different prices. Are they all different?
What do I need to run it? Is it easier to run on xp if I use an old laptop?

If you're talking about the 1.4.0 scan software with the cable and OBD II connector, I concluded that they were all the same despite prices ranging from $20 up to $160. I just bought a cheaper option from a seller with good rating.
From what I've read, a laptop with XP is preferable.

i'm a bit new to BMW's scanning and programming tool (having owned Audi's for past no. of years
)... will this tool give you an option to program some modules such as remove seat belt 'chime', PDC etc?
