Whilst checking out the car after purchase, I came across a loose spring and small white plastic tube in the boot floor recess below the fusebox. I did't recognise this as a BMW item, until today when I discovered that neither of the bump stops works because the backs are completely open, where I guess the springs should be.  The spring I found is quite strong, so I was wondering if the plastic housing fail, and if so is it worth replacing them?
